Manufacturing Capabilities
| Operations at Brady Coated Products center around three basic manufacturing capabilities: Compounding, Coating/Laminating, and Slitting. |
Coatings are measured, mixed, dispersed, and dissolved in the compounding facility. Batch sizes range from 5 gallon development pails to 500 gallon tanks.
Coating methods include slot die, gravure, wire wound rod and reverse roll. A variety of web widths, drying profiles, solvents, coatings, and webs enable Brady to manufacture unique products. Our experience with a wide range of substrates has resulted in an outstanding record of responsive product development. All of Brady’s coaters are equipped with hot/cold laminators, web cleaners, corona treaters, and beta-gauges for in-line coatweight control.
Brady has two “white room” coaters. These machines utilize HEPA filtered air supplies for both the oven and the web handling rooms. Good clean room practices are used in both of these coaters. The largest “white room” coater is 65” wide with a maximum linespeed of 300 fpm – it is supplied with class 1000 conditioned air. In addition to cleanliness advantages, this coater has state of the art AC-vector drives for superior web handling capabilities.
